Seamless Display develops seamless three-in-one monitor.
Everyone who's ever tried building a multi-monitor computer probably hates the little bumps in between monitors when trying to put more then one monitor in your system. And so, Seamless Display has found a creative solution to this problem. By putting a fancy array of lenses in between each monitor, the monitors look like one gigantic widescreen panoramic display. The display measures 50" diagonally, has a 16 millisecond response time, and has a 350 cd/m brightness. It also has a 500 to 1 contrast ratio. Seamless Display was founded in 2002 by former Oxford University researchers. They are known for creating amazing displays, such as a 45 inch 7680x4800 pixel display. There is no mention of the monitors price or release date, but the German site golem.de hints that it will be released in early 2007 with a price tag of roughly $16,000.

The M230 is BSI's latest laptop computer that meets and exceeds the standards set by the military (810F) and industry (IP54), but is priced less than many of the competitors' lightweight portable computers. With a Intel Core Duo L2400 processor, the M230 features a versatile Bay 1 and removable HDD bay design. The removable HDD bay allow users to easily remove the HDD, giving users a wide array of advantages such as, allowing multiple users to share laptop but not the HDD, safeguarding/security by removal of the HDD, and general reliability of easily removing the HDD and putting it into another laptop regardless of the original laptop’s state.

The IP54 design means that the M230 is designed to survive the extreme use and needs of today’s “on-the-go” road warriors in field service, utilities, construction, telecommunications, military, police, fire and emergency services (EMS), data collection in science, oil and gas exploration where wind-blown, heavy rain, three–foot drops off the back of a truck, and temperatures from –4 to +130ยบ F may be encountered.

Going beyond rugged, the M230 is a powerful notebook computer. It features a large, bright 14.1” TFT XGA LCD screen with 128MB of RAM that provides vibrant images whether indoors or outdoors. For direct sunlight applications, an optional outdoor viewable display and A/R reflective coating is available. Behind the display is the latest Intel Core Duo L2400 processor for true speed and wireless portability. The Intel Core Duo L2400 processor is enhanced with up to 2 GB of DDR2, a 667MHz FSB, a selection of quick-swap hard disk drives (80 GB and up) and optical drives (DVD, CD-ROM).

The main battery powers the M230 for up to 4 hours of full-out, pedal to metal use. The optional second battery adds two more hours, but the optional vehicle mount lets the unit recharge and function continuously.

The affordable M230 also offers customers field flexibility in the configuration. The swappable drives will allow police, fire officials, and utility workers to leave the computer in the vehicle but remove the drive at the end of the shift to finish their reports at their desks or checking the disk into evidence.

What is StatsPod?

A cutting edge, portable voice activated statistics and code entry system. This next generation of statistics data entry uses voice recognition technology. Current stats and video systems are confined to keyboard, mouse or touch screen entry – all of which require the statistician to take their eyes off the game to enter events.

Statspod can be configured to work for any sport – team or individual – where you wish to log events during performance.

StatsPod is a world first and has the potential to revolutionise the way statistics and actions are recorded at sporting events.

How does it work?
StatsPod is designed to operate in noisy, loud environments such as a basketball or football stadium or a swimming centre. Statistics are defined from a pre-set vocabulary relevant to your sport. Participant involvements, raw statistical events, set plays, strategic events – in fact you can make up you own codes if you wish !
.
Statspod is a PC based application that is designed to run on the latest ultra-portable computers and a version is scheduled for the new generation Pocket PC’s.

Using the latest in noise eliminating headset/microphones to minimise external noise, StatsPod allows for a high level of accuracy and an audio is optionally available for auditing and verification so there is no uncertainty.

How can I use the data?
The data logged can be sent via cable or wirelessly transmitted to the StatsHost where all data can be automatically uploaded and audited for real-time database updating. Text and audio files of all voice entry can also be saved with the stats data for further analysis or review.

There is no real limit to the number of StatsPods that can be primed at a single even and all data can be consolidated by the StatsHost.

Alternatively StatsPod is also capable of operating in a remote, stand-alone mode and the data can be processed in a batch mode when the StatsPod and StatsHost are synchronized at a later time
